The Encyclopedia of World Subcultures is a wiki encyclopedia; this encyclopedia is built on the basis pf MediaWiki engine, but that's practically all it has in common with the Wikipedia.

Encyclopedia of World Subcultures is not a Wikipedia!

  • The encyclopedia of world subcultures does not contain a description of knowledge "about everything in the world", but is devoted to the description of subcultures only, both modern and historical, from the Templar knights to bikers. At the same time, the Encyclopedia of World Subcultures does not describe subcultures superficially, it does it comprehensively and in detail.
  • Unlike Wikipedia, the Encyclopedia of World Subcultures allows to have three viewpoints on one phenomenon. Each article might have three versions: a scientific (or academic) version, followers’ viewpoint and an independent public opinion.
  • Unlike Wikipedia, the Encyclopedia of World Subcultures has an editorial policy and editorial board. The editorial board consists of recognized experts in the scientific community - sociologists, anthropologists, psychologists, philosophers, religious scholars, etc.
  • Unlike Wikipedia, the authors of the Encyclopedia of World Subcultures are specialists in their fields (scientists, or followers). At the same time, the Encyclopedia of World Subcultures is an open encyclopedia, anyone who proves their competence can become the author.
